The Right Wing is so hard at work warning the public of dangers that exist only in their minds that it is sometimes hard to keep up with which ones are the most frightening. Not to worry, we here at liberalamerica.org are here to help and you won’t need to see a doctor or take any medication. ?And that is not a shot at the HealthCare.gov website.
1) Larry Pratt, President of the NRA competitor, Gun Owners Of America, believes that the Obama Administration is? planning to use ACA to get healthcare records for purposes of confiscating guns from all Americans.? Pratt, in discussing that fantasy with Conservative Talk Show Host, Stan Solomon, also warned that just as it was in Nazi Germany, concentration camps will also be coming.
Stan Solomon is known for his view that President Obama is intent upon promoting a race war targeting whites and christian heterosexuals.? Solomon has also said that Trayvon Martin deserved to die and he hopes that the writer, Dan Savage will soon follow.
2) Bryan Fischer, the American Family Association, radio talker, regularly rants about the false connection between homosexuality, the Nazis, and the Holocaust. Last Thursday Fischer discussed the theory that requiring Government licensing to engage in commerce is akin to the ?Mark of the Beast?.? I wonder, would this also apply to States requiring driver licenses, automobile registration, and applying for benefits of any kind either at the State or Federal level?? Perhaps Fischer hasn’t really thought this one through. Watch his insanity for yourself:
3) ?Here is one that appeared on worldtruth.tv, which ?Eddie the Blogger? promotes on his Facebook page as the place to go ?if you want to know the truth about this world.” ?Did you know that the President is planning to use Obamacare as a means for requiring all Americans to be implanted with a microchip for purposes of monitoring and controlling all medical care?? Now ?Eddie? admits that the this is one of those many provisions buried within the very long and hard to discern ACA, and that the language is very vague.? But ?Eddie? has determined that this is another one of those Government ?mark of the beast? type schemes.
Thanks to ?Eddie? for warning us about this one.? But, I wonder, does he take his children down to the local police station to get them fingerprinted in case they are lost or missing?? And what about fingerprinting and DNA sampling of accused criminals with a warrant, are they permissible?
4) We know that there are many folks out there in the far right Christian community who have claimed that the gay can be prayed away or that at the very least, with the right therapist, such as Marcus Bachmann, husband of soon to former Congresswoman, Michelle Bachmann, Conversion Therapy or Reparative Therapy can turn a gay man straight.? This money making scheme, sometimes paid for with taxpayer dollars, has been widely panned by experts as dangerous and ineffective.? Even Governor Chris Christie, signed a bill last August making the practice illegal in New Jersey.
Now comes Rick Scarborough, former Baptist Preacher, and current head of a group called ?Tea Party Unity? promoting the filing a class action lawsuit to stop people from being Homosexuals.? The theory obviously being that since it is a lifestyle choice, the good Pastor would be using this lawsuit as just another attempt to get the gays to choose the path that he and others like him want.
5) Texas Senator Ted Cruz, the GOP Senate leader during the recent Government Shutdown said during his fake filibuster that people who opposed his plan to defund Obamacare probably would have opposed fighting Nazi Germany had they been alive during that time.
The ability of Conservatives to find connections between Democratic policies and Nazi Germany never ceases to amaze.? In this case, the Democrats in Congress succeeded in passing legislation signed into law by the duly elected President intended to bring healthcare to millions of our uninsured fellow citizens. Then there was December 7, 1941 when the United States was attacked by a Foreign Nation, during a time when Germany had already begun to systematically invade other Foreign Nations, while at the same time systematically embarking on a plan to murder millions of other human beings because of their religion, and then after the United States declared war on Japan, Germany declared War on the United States.? Can you see the connection?
6) Glen Beck, in reaction to the GOP/Teabully inspired Government shutdown, warned of the Obama Administration plan hatched during a secret meeting with the Marxists in his administration.? It was during this meeting when the Administration decided to close National Monuments so as to inflict as much pain as possible on the American people, otherwise known as white Republicans. The purpose behind the plan was to teach those people the lesson not to mess with this President and his Administration.? What was next on the President’s agenda?? Mass killings through starvation.
7) Bryan Fischer gets back on the list with this gem.? Forget the US Constitution which, even according to the current Supreme Court, still guarantees the right of a woman to choose to have an abortion.? Fischer last week told his radio audience that just as our country repented for the sin of slavery through the Civil War, so too must we repent for the sin of abortion through anarchy and civil unrest and possibly a second civil war. ?Watch his crazy again:
The so called ?Pro Life Movement? has been out there for years going well beyond the admirable and quintessentially American at of civil disobedience of protesting against policies with which they disagree.? Through the bombings of women’s healthcare clinics and the murder of physicians providing abortion services, they have gone well beyond civil disobedience rising to the level of terrorism and organized crime.
8) Former Florida Congressman and one term Teabully wonder, Allen West, along with others on the far right, often accuse President Obama of acting like a ?Dictator? or as Congressman West recently put it, as ?a Monarch?, going around Congress granting special favors, in particular regarding the implementation of Obamcare. ? They accuse the President of appointing? Czars?, using ?Executive Orders?, and making ?Recess Appointments? so as to get around Congress. ?West?definitely?has to be seen in the flesh. Watch here:
Could it be that the President is instead using all legal means at his disposal in order to get things done given the stated goal and the history of the Republican Congress to obstruct the President at every turn?
9) Former GOP Presidential Candidate, and long time televangelist, Pat Robertson, has been following political developments in Europe.? Robertson said on his show today that liberal policies lead to mass deaths and that he sees little difference between Europe today and the time of Nazi Germany.? Of course Robertson also believes that God sends hurricanes to punish sinners for things like homosexuality.
10) Then there are the right wingers out there who believe that there is Federal legislation out there with vague and hidden language buried deep within the bill that would allow the Secretary of Homeland Security to use FEMA facilities as Concentration Camps for large numbers of Americans during national emergencies.
Why should they be worried about such legislation? There is still the Republican House of Representatives there to make sure no such bill ever comes up for a vote. Or is the problem the same that happened with the Affordable Care Act?? That being the bill was long and complicated so the Republicans in Congress didn’t take the time to read that one either.? Or is it just that the bill was over their heads?
So relax folks. ?Hug your AR-15, if you have one. ?Take a drive to your favorite hangout without worrying about that Government issued license in your pocket or the plate on the car. Phone a friend, even if you or the friend is gay. ?Perhaps you are both gay, the NSA won’t mind. ?They are too busy monitoring the real terrorists. ?I wonder who Bryan Fischer is talking to tonight?
