Ted Cruz’s Dad Forgets He’s A Communist, Son Is Foreigner

This week in the your-daddy-is-a-crazy-hypocrite news, Rafael Cruz, father of Congressman Ted Cruz (R-Texas), has been caught on video saying he would like to send President Obama “back to Kenya.” ?Usually what a parent of a congressperson says wouldn’t be a big deal but according to Mother Jones,?who uncovered this video Rafael Cruz is different:

Rafael Cruz regularly speaks to tea party and Republican groups in Texas as a surrogate for his son; during Ted Cruz’s 2012 Senate campaign, his father was dispatched to events and rallies across the state to whip up support. And thanks to Ted Cruz’s political rise, Rafael has become a conservative star in his own right. He has been prominently featured?and praised?at events held by prominent right-wing outfits, such as?FreedomWorks?and?Heritage Action. What Rafael Cruz says?especially when he is speaking for his son?matters.

Ted Cruz likes to play up his father as a real life “American dream” story even though his dad’s success story doesn’t start in the U.S. It starts in Canada where Ted was born.

Rafael Cruz has also accused the President of being secretly?Muslim?because, of course, that would be un-American.?The oddest thing about the whole quote is that of course President Obama wasn’t born in Kenya. Those of us who aren’t birthers know this. So, logic must dictate that if President Obama has to be sent back to Kenya because his father was there, then Ted Cruz must immediately be deported to Cuba. He also has to admit to being a communist since his father fought on the side of ?Fidel Castro.

Although that wouldn’t be fair because those life facts don’t apply to Ted Cruz — only to his father.
