US Airways Tweeted Most Obscene Tweet Ever By A Brand To A Disgruntled Customer

I can’t even embed these Tweets as I normally do. I need to screenshot them because it’s very likely many of them will come down. It began with a typical conversation with a disgruntled customer.

Pretty normal, right? Right. Until…

Then on Monday, US Airways, in a bizarre “thank you” for feedback, tweeted this:

You can visit BuzzFeed to see the original image. This is not safe for work. It’s also not safe around kids. Or your mom. Or maybe your spouse. Or….well, it may not even be safe for you. But if you insist, go for it. And yes, I know most of you are going to. I don’t blame you. The curiosity is almost too much.?The bold airline did pull the Tweet down an hour later, but not before shock was expressed via Twitter.

BuzzFeed reports the following:

? The photo was actually?tweeted?at the airline earlier today.
? The photo was also trending on Reddit’s very NSFW shock imageboard?Spacedicks?last week.
? The photo is originally from a German-language amateur porn and shock site.

A US Airways spokesperson reported that there was a really unfortunate mixup in the copying and pasting of a URL and the flagging of an inappropriate tweet. The employee who made the mistake won’t be fired, which makes this a good outcome. Mistakes happen. It really says a lot (good things) about the integrity of US Airways that they would stand behind their employee in this ordeal. From the Washington Post:

?No, absolutely not,? Miller told The Post via telephone from Fort Worth, Tex., where the company is based. ?It was an honest mistake.?

Miller said that the image had been tweeted at one of the airlines, so someone grabbed the tweet to flag it as inappropriate. But it was ?inadvertently shared? instead, he said.

?We deeply regret the mistake,? Miller said.
