This is the second article this week that I’ve written sharing info about anxiety disorders. Liberal America isn’t going to become a mental health resource site, I promise, but this is a topic that needs more attention, respect, and understanding. It just so happens that I stumbled upon two excellent teaching tools in the same week.
Anxiety disorders affect?19 million Americans and the symptoms are crippling. They have a huge effect on long-term mental and physical health. Startlingly, the mean age of onset is 11 years old. Imagine what could be accomplished if we better understand this disease and how to treat it. As pointed out by a Liberal America reader: “It’s not a psychological disorder – it’s a mood disorder with a physiological basis.”
