Model Chrissy Teigen, perhaps best known for being on the legendary 50th Anniversary Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue,?recently confessed that even the most physically flawless women in the world are subjected to body-shaming.

In an interview with DuJour, Teigen — the wife of singer John Legend — shared the humiliating experience of being fired from Forever 21 in the middle of a set for being “fat.”

?I was actually fired from a job. Forever 21. They booked me directly when I was much younger. I showed up on set and they asked me if they could take a photo and they shoot that photo off to my agency, who then calls me as I’m sitting in the make-up chair, and they say, ?You need to leave right now. They just said that you are fat and you need to get your measurements taken,?? she said.

Her response:

“And I hate you, Forever 21. I hate you so much. Honestly, you’re the worst.?

I’m not sure what can be done — if anything — to change the unrealistic expectations to which women are subjected. In an industry that would be hesitant to publicly body shame, it’s troubling that this kind of treatment of women still occurs behind the scenes.
