A disturbing video was taken inside of a Greenville County, SC Wal-Mart this Saturday, of two police officers being a little ?excessive? in the apprehension of an unarmed man.

In the video, one police officer can be seen punching the suspect repeatedly in the head as another officer has him pinned on his side. All of this happened after the man had already been tasered.

According to local TV station WSPA, deputies were called to the store around 1:00 pm in response to an intoxicated man outside of the store. Greenville County Master Deputy Jonathan Smith says the first deputy found a man ?acting erratic outside the store.?

When the man entered the store and a second deputy arrived on scene, the decision was made to arrest the man. It is at this point witnesses say the officers went too far.

According to witness David Chimera,

?There were a lot of women in tears saying ?hey, stop stop.? There was no call for that, I don’t know why they did it.?

In one piece of cell phone footage, a woman can be heard pleading for the officers to stop punching the man. She is heard saying,

?Please don’t punch him like that, please don’t. Don’t punch him no more.?

While no one should doubt that there are good police officers in our communities willing to protect and serve, it’s these types of actions that put police officers everywhere under negative public scrutiny.

While the video will speak for itself, investigators are still looking through store surveillance footage as well as other eyewitness cell phone footage. While the man was taken to an area hospital after the incident for an evaluation, whether he was under the influence of drugs or alcohol has yet to be determined.

The Greenville County Sheriff’s Office says they will release a comment once a review is complete.
