Chris Rock Explains Why A President Should Be An Amateur

A few years before the U.S. elected its first black president, there was a movie about the election of the first black president:?Head of State?starring Chris Rock.

From Wikipedia:

Mays Gilliam (played by Chris Rock) is an alderman of the 9th Ward in Washington D.C.. After being fired from his post and dumped by his girlfriend, Mays is surprisingly chosen as the party candidate for the presidency (after his party’s original presidential and vice-presidential nominees die when their two separate planes crash into each other) to run against sitting vice-president Brian Lewis. Assuming the election was already lost, the party decided to pick a likable but unwinnable minority candidate to improve their chances in the next presidential election.

Well Gilliam won the election. It’s a great movie, in my opinion, although it didn’t get great reviews from Rotten Tomatoes et al. In the final debate between the candidates, his opponent called Gilliam (Chris Rock) an amateur. Watch Gilliam’s response below. I think he nails it.
