Anonymous Seizes KKK Twitter Account, Declares War With Racist Organization

The Traditionalist American Knights of the Ku Klux Klan (KKK), is a well-known white supremacy group in the United States with?branches all over the country. ?On Friday, the Huffington Post reported?that a Missouri chapter of the organization began distributing flyers in Ferguson, MO threatening “lethal force as provided under Missouri law to defend ourselves” against protesters who they accuse of terrorism. ?”Imperial Wizard” and KKK President?Frank Ancona even appeared?on the MSNBC show All In?to explain his position:

“That’s what this flyer is addressing, it kinda came about from the hundreds of calls we’ve been getting from residents of St. Louis County concerned with things they’ve seen on social media about random attacks on whites, DC sniper style type shootings…police officers being threatened that their wives are going to be raped and, you know, that they’re all targets, you know, so all these calls are coming to us and people say, “What should we do?”

These threats caught the attention of the well-known hacktivist group?Anonymous,?who responded with a video of their own:

“We are not attacking you because of what you believe in as we fight for freedom of speech. ?We are attacking you because of what you did to our brothers and sisters at the Ferguson protest on the 12th of November. ?Due to your actions we have started Operation KKK. The aim of our operation is nothing more than Cyber Warfare. Anything you upload will be taken down, anything you use to promote the KKK will be shut down.”

The video was published November 14th. ?Recently, our Editor in Chief wrote about the members’ personal information being released by Anonymous across the web. ?Despite this, he KKK offered comments of skepticism and dismissal until two days later, on the 16th, when the group’s Twitter account was seized by the hacktivists. ?The group has already started to publish the names and other personal information of the KKK members operation out of Ferguson, MO using the hashtag #OpKKK. ?All of this comes as the country awaits a verdict for Darren Wilson, who is accused of fatally shooting an unarmed teenager, Michael Brown, which led to the start of the riots.
