As most of my readers know I am a Veteran. As a Vet I have learned to endure the stupid questions asked by ignorant civilians. I know I am not the only Veteran of this generation and the many generations before.
Despite the profoundly annoying theme song, this video is an accurate display of what us veterans are actually thinking when ignorant civilians ask and say stupid s***. Since stupidity has been around since the dawn of all life, I’m sure all Vets since the world’s first military existed had to deal with some variation of these stupid questions and comments:
“Why did you join? Couldn’t get into college?”
“I think my cousin was a SEAL.”
“Is war like Call Of Duty?”
“I could never join. If the Drill SGT yelled at me I’d kick his a**.”
“Did you ever kill anybody?”
After enduring these ignorant questions and comments as well as a litany of others I do my best do shrug it off calmly because I don’t want to lose my job or go to jail. However, in my head I’m thinking:
“Shut the f*** up!”
“You must be dumb as sh**!”
“Talk back to the Drill SGT?! HAHAHAHA! Listen cupcake! Many who actually had the nuts to sign on the dotted line (unlike your stupid a** ) have tried it. They weren’t the same after that. People tougher than you’ll ever be. Instead of going through the hassle of enlisting why not try talking smack to a Hell’s Angel. The end result will be the same. Except the Hell’s Angel won’t have to sign an incident report with witnesses saying you fell down the stairs. Moron!”
I would like to point out myself and other veterans are in no way shape or form anti civilian. There are many wonderful civilians out their who have shown us nothing but respect and support and we commend them for that. This video shows ignorant civilians who are the opposite of that. Don’t be like them. With that said I hope you enjoyed this hilarious but true video.
