Florida Teen Shoots Boyfriend Because He Took A Xanax

Reading this will make you think twice before arguing with your girlfriend when she is not in the right mood. In a case which showcases a mix of innocence, anger, and fear of law, WPTV has reported that a teenage girl accidentally shot her boyfriend with a gun she assumed to be unloaded. After the act she tried to cover up the case as suicide in order to escape the law.

As per a friend/witness, it all started at a West Palm Beach, Florida home where 17 year old Lety Hernandez picked up a gun to intimidate her 19 year old boyfriend Fredi Hernandez, during an argument over a Xanax pill he had taken. Fredi laughed out at his girlfriend’s act when she questioned him at gunpoint.

Hernandez?had already pulled the magazine out of the gun and was shocked when it fired when she pulled?the trigger. She screamed and immediately dropped the weapon.

After that, she tried to cover up the whole incident — which is also an offense — by placing the gun in the victim’s hands and misinforming the police to believe it was suicide. She admitted to the crime later.

The witness, a mutual friend of the two teenagers, said that he helped Lety cover up the incident since he did not want her to be booked for the crime. He stated the reason that Hernandez is?pregnant with Fredi’s baby.

As of now, the girl has been charged with manslaughter with a heavy monetary bond.

This case brings many social issues into light. For example freedom of possessing guns. This incident could well have been avoided with stricter gun laws. The second issue was teenage pregnancy which shows the need for better sex education. And then, people need to understand how to handle the situation if they commit an unintended crime.
