Tanner’s NFL Mock Draft Picks 1-10

The NFL Draft is fast approaching. The festivities kick off on April 30th at 7pm with Round 1 and the later rounds distributed out on Friday and Saturday. So you may be asking yourself “what does my team need” and “who will they get?” Those are two of many questions that fans and front office staff have?been asking themselves for the past month and a half. To answers some of the fans questions, here’s my projected first round.

  1. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Jameis Winston QB Florida State. While Jameis might have put on a few pounds and have off-field issues, he definitely has the talent and it makes too much sense for him to go to Tampa.
  2. Tennessee Titans: Leonard Williams DT USC. Quick feet and a 6’5″ 291 pound body makes Williams a shoe in for a deprive Tennessee defense. While it would make sense for the Titans to grab a QB this years crop doesn’t pop.
  3. Jacksonville Jaguars: Dante Fowler Jr. OLB Florida. He has been called the best pure pass rusher in the draft and if he works out, he and the Jaguars other off-season moves are a step in the right direction.
  4. Oakland Raiders: Kevin White WR WVU. This 6’3″ product of West Virginia has not only got height but a 4.35 forty yard dash. Teams like the Raiders like to draft players with massive upside and White?has got it. White will not be another Heyward-Bey
  5. Washington Redskins: Randy Gregory OLB NEB. This Cornhusker product had a 10’4″ broad jump and a 4.64 40 yard dash at the combine. Couple that with his 6’5″ 235 pound body and you have the makings for a pretty mean backer. Too bad he failed a drug test.
  6. New York Jets: Vic Beasley OLB Clemson. How do you make an already terrifying defense better? Give them a 6’3″ and 246 pound OLB who runs a 4.53 40 yard dash. Yeah that’s how.
  7. Chicago Bears: Shane Ray DE Missouri. A team that gives up?running lanes bigger than a Mack Truck is in desperate need of a guy like Ray. While, the Bears problem’s won’t end anytime soon, Ray is at least a start for the now domesticated animals.
  8. Possible Forfeiture?Atlanta Falcons: Brandon Scherff OG Iowa. A team desperate to bounce back from a 6-10 campaign is in need for some solidification at the offensive line position. The 6’5″ 319 pound Iowa product definitely fits the bill.
  9. New York Giants: Andrus Peat OT Stanford. Peat’s stature is almost scary. The 6’7″ 313 pound of Offensive tackle will give the Giants and Eli Manning a much needed brick wall.
  10. St. Louis Rams: Amari Cooper WR. Standing 6’1″ and a 33″ vertical gives Cooper the intangibles to succeed. Cooper and Kenny Britt will make a pretty dominant combo for the Rams next season.

Stay tuned for my next mock draft of Round 1 picks 11-20.
