As a kid growing up in the Southern Baptist Church, I used to really hate going to church for many reasons. It wasn’t that I didn’t believe in God or Jesus, or pro-wrestling for that matter. Church was just boring.
One of the most boring parts of church was always the testimony. Listening to people praise Jesus for the most mundane things just got on my nerves! One guest pastor claimed that by the power of Jesus, his house magically grew 500 feet because he poured “blessed oil” in each corner of his house. I was only 10 years old and I wanted to yell “BULLS**T”! This tool even had the nerve to call me out because of how I was sitting down! I wanted to throw a lite match on his stupid geri-curl!
Sorry — I still have some anger issues to work out on that one.
