In horrible Chris Christie news…

On August 14, 2013, New Jersey resident Brian Wilson confronted Governor Chris Christie about his stance on medical Marijuana. Wilson asked Christie:

“Please Don’t Let My Daughter Die Governor?”

Wilson has a 2-year-old daughter named Vivian. Vivian suffers from Dravet’s Syndrome, a brutal and possibly fatal form of epilepsy that she will have for the rest of her life. The illness has already led to one hour-long seizure where the little girl stopped breathing and had to be resuscitated.

Many people may not know that? medical marijuana has been legal in New Jersey for three-and-a-half years. However? Christie’s Department of Health has made it next to impossible for patients to obtain medical marijuana in New Jersey. ?The state?imposes roadblock regulations such as? a requirement that three doctors sign off on the prescription, a ban on edible forms, and they limit dispensaries from growing more than three strains of marijuana.

With these regulations in place, patients like Vivian face the nearly impossible challenge of receiving their life saving medication. In Vivian’s case she would need a high-CBD, low-THC form of marijuana that carries none of the psychoactive effects of regular marijuana.? However this form of marijuana is not very popular and dispensaries are less inclined to grow the strain, especially considering the hoops the government makes them jump through to even sell?their regular versions. Keep in mind these dispensaries can only grow three?versions of the plant, so children like Vivian can not get what they need to live. So the Chris Christie news here is that he’s heartless.

When Chris Christie was asked by Hugh Hewitt if he would, as president of the U.S., enforce federal drug laws in states that have legalized and regulated marijuana, Christie said this:

“Absolutely,” Christie said. “I will crack down and not permit it.”

Christie cited the “enormous addiction problem” in the United States. He said there needs to be a very clear message:

“[…] from the White House on down through federal law enforcement.?States should not be permitted to sell it and profit from legalizing marijuana.”

Christie is in the minority even among other Republicans when it comes to this issue, according to polling from the Pew Research Center; an estimated 54 percent of Republicans do not believe in interfering with states that have legalized marijuana.

Last March, Brian Wilson and his family moved to Colorado in order to save their daughter’s life.

We can never seem to get any Chris Christie news that paints the governor in a good light.?Here is video of the confrontation.
