Jeb Bush Now Admits He Would Have Authorized The Iraq War–But He’s His ‘Own Man

Less than three months after declaring that he loved his father and brother but proudly announcing,?”I?am my own man,” Jeb Bush has now confirmed what we already suspected: When it comes to Iraq, he is just as deluded as his brother George W. Bush was.

Bush, speaking to Fox News host Megyn Kelly in an interview which will air next week, said:

?I would have [authorized the invasion], and so would have Hillary Clinton, just to remind everybody. And so would almost everybody that was confronted with the intelligence they got.”

Well, everybody except those who suspected that the intelligence was a crock of bull puckey and that your brother had already made up his mind to go into Iraq no matter the price. A price we are still paying.

In the next breath, Jeb did manage to admit that the?”intelligence that everybody saw, that the world saw, was faulty.”

Wonder if that had anything to do with the Administration only releasing the intelligence that supported their position that invasion was necessary to avoid “a mushroom cloud” as both Dick Cheney and Condi Rice asserted time and time again in the run up to the war in Iraq?

Bush them attempted to defend his brother with this tepid piece of pablum:

?By the way, guess who thinks that those mistakes took place as well? George W. Bush. Yes, I mean, so just for the news flash to the world, if they’re trying to find places where there’s big space between me and my brother, this might not be one of those.”

I’m sure there are thousands of others, Governor Bush. Thousands, as in the thousands of American lives lost as a result of a rush to war which was promoted by your brother and which we now know you would also have been a cheerleader on behalf of.

I think what?Democratic National Committee Communications Director Mo Elleithee said best sums up my feelings on this less-than-surprising revelation from Jeb Bush:

?The difference between the Bush brothers and most Americans is that most people believe we were misled into invading Iraq. Knowing now what we did not know then, Jeb Bush still would have gone in.”

Which in my mind means that Jeb Bush is–much like his brother–completely unfit to be President of the United States.
