I have a confession to make. Years ago, I used to love watching Fox News.?I was even a big Bill O’Reilly fan. Eventually I lost my appetite for their coverage, but one of the people I did miss watching was Shepard Smith. He had such a sarcastic sense of humor. He came off as kind of the bad boy or loose cannon of Fox News. I just never knew what he was going to say about a story.
I always had suspicions that he had journalistic integrity to some degree; I just never thought I’d see him standing up to Fox News politics. Of course we all know Fox News politics — they find a way to cater to the conservative base. So I can only imagine what must have been going through producers’ minds when Smith started going off on his fellow journalists about the stupid questions they were asking.
Of course at the end of the day this story does help Fox News?claim to be “fair and balanced.” However I strongly doubt we will be hearing much more of this kind of talk from Smith. But who knows?
