Once again Fox News’ Sean Hannity brilliantly burns us lowly liberals with his amazing logic and reason-based debating skills.
On his radio show on Thursday,?Hannity expressed outrage over the fact that retailers like Walmart were pulling merchandise with the Confederate flag symbol from their store shelves. Hannity wondered if these companies would do the same thing to something he considers offensive, like science books. Okay sorry, actually it was rap music, but those damned godless science books have it coming, just you wait.
Hannity said;
?I have a question,? he said, ?can you still buy a Jay Z CD at Walmart? Does the music department at Sears have any Ludacris albums??
Wow, how many hypocritical and just plain stupid ?things can one man say on just one topic?
First, Hannity is a capitalist, right? So he should be in favor of companies choosing to sell or not sell merchandise based on their culture and values. He doesn’t seem to have a problem with Christians refusing to sell?baked goods to gays. After all it’s called the FREE MARKET, right?
Second, Hannity chose Walmart to use as his example. Walmart is notorious for requiring record companies to self-censor the content and cover art of music CDs if those record companies?want it sold in Walmart?stores.
That being said he does make a semi-sane point about rap music, he said this:
?A lot of the music by those artists is chock-full of the ?N word,? and the ?B-word,? and the ?H-word,? and racist, misogynist, sexist anti-woman slurs none of those retail executives would be caught dead using.?
Okay Hannity — fair enough. But Walmart executives, like most American executives, mainly care about the bottom line and how public perception affects that line. If Walmart felt that selling rap music could hurt their bottom line, they wouldn’t sell it. But because a large number of white people buy rap music in Walmart, I don’t see them making a “moral decision” on not selling something that probably makes them a lot more money than Confederate flag salt shakers.
Once again Hannity has managed to model his willful ignorance with the kind of grace and class that only a?FOX NEWS superstar can muster. Bravo, good sir!
