The Green Bay Packers were dealt a devastating blow last week when star wide receiver Jordy Nelson tore his acl.

And now Packers fans watched as number 2 wide receiver Randall Cobb suffered an AC joint sprain in his shoulder last night. Cobb left the game due to the shoulder injury after getting tackled along the sideline during the first quarter of their match-up vs the Philadelphia Eagles.

In addition to Cobb leaving the game, there is no distinct word on whether or not Cobb will be ready for the Packers opener. The good news is that it’s just a sprain, however there’s always bad news.

The bad news for the Green Bay Packers is that 2013 Jordy Nelson pulled in 98 receptions for 1519 and 13 touchdowns. And his counterpart Randall Cobb managed 91 receptions for 1287 and 12 touchdowns.

The next best Packer receiver was Eddie Lacy their running back. This leaves the top wide receiver spot to 22 year old Davante Adams who pulled in 38 balls last year for 446 and 3 touchdowns. In addition to Adams, the team’s Tight End Andrew Quarless will be the number 2 target come week one should Cobb not return.

But the good news for fantasy footballers is that Randall Cobb is going to have pretty substantial value when he returns and Eddie Lacy should see a jump in carries. And those of you searching for a tight end, Andrew Quarless may become a good option as Aaron Rodgers will need to find a new target to make up for the loss of Nelson.
