I knew watching Kim Davis on “Good Morning America” this morning was going to be risky. There was a chance I would spit my coffee out in disbelief because of something she said. Maybe even lose my breakfast. Well it didn’t take long for Davis to deliver that moment.

In an exclusive interview this morning with Paula Faris, the Rowan County clerk from Kentucky that denied marriage licenses to same-sex couples, tried the pity party approach to justify her actions. Actions that got her six days in jail. When listening to Davis speak, one can see the danger of any type of religious extremism. Whether it’s Muslim extremist or Christian extremist, their views seem to trump everyone else’s right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Even dignity.

This is not an opinion either. Davis herself expressed those sentiments in her own words this morning. While every Constitution loving Republican that used her as free Christian publicity, I wonder what they thought of her when she told Faris:

“I don’t think dignity is guaranteed in the Constitution. I think dignity is something that you find within yourself. I feel really sad that someone could be so unhappy with themselves as a person, that they did not feel dignified as a human being until they got a piece of paper. I mean there’s just so much more to life than that.”

What? Now it’s just a piece of paper to this walking delusion? This response came after Faris asked Davis about a male couple that received a marriage license from her office. Faris said:

“One of the voters that finally received a marriage license said that he “finally felt human.” That was a direct quote, he was in tears. People will question, why is your moral conscience, Kim, more important than someone else’s happiness”?

Convenient hypocrisy at its finest. Now why would someone care about Kim Davis on “Good Morning America”? Some write off people like Kim Davis as nothing more than a nuisance. That type of thinking is dangerous also. It’s people like Kim Davis that feed the fear and hate of so many in this country, and it must be exposed for the bigoted hatred that it is.

To end on an ironic twist about this interview, Davis was asked about some of the hate mail she has received. After getting some tears rolling, Davis said:

“I’ve been called Hitler, I’ve been called hypocrite, I’ve been called a homophobe. What probably hurts me the worst is when someone tells me, that my God does not love me, or that my God is not happy with me. That I am a hypocrite of a Christian.”

Well if the shoe fits Kim…you know the rest. It’s tough when people judge you, isn’t it Kim? But in your own words one more time:

I don’t think dignity is guaranteed in the Constitution. I think dignity is something that you find within yourself. I feel really sad that someone could be so unhappy with themselves as a person, that they did not feel dignified as a human being until they got a piece of paper. I mean there’s just so much more to life than that.”
