A 15-year-old boy, who was not identified by name due to his age, was charged with threatening violence at a school and telephone harassment in connection with the threats.
A fellow Highland High student, Isaac Gomez, remarked:
“Some kid who was having attention problems with specifically the cheerleaders, didn’t get nudes. He was asking for some inappropriate things.”
Allegedly the teen in question posted threats on both Facebook and Twitter, saying that he planned to bring a gun to school and kill all the female students, and he also shared detailed plans of how he would enter the school and eventually kill himself in the weight room. And he posted this:
“(I’m) serious I have a 12 gauge shotgun and a 9 mm pistol I will bring and start killing everyone. I also have hunting knives I can bring.”
All this just because no girls were sending him nude photos.
In addition, the boy used his Twitter account to harass other Highland students–most of them girls– and threatened to harm President Barack Obama. He also made racist comments about African-Americans.
Other messages between the teen and a friend point directly to the source of his anger. In a text, the friend asked:
“This. Over freaking nudes? Dude.”
The student making the threats replied:
“Because no one will give any to me. Every one hates me. And I hate (one particular girl). And I will kill myself after.”
His friend tried to bring him back to reality:
“We’re kids. Nothing valuable. Except our lives so leave us alone.”
