Police in Pinellas County, Florida, had absolutely no trouble identifying and locating a man who left threatening voice mail messages at two Florida mosques. The reason: He also left his name on the voice mails.

Martin Alan Schnitzler was arrested Tuesday in connection with a threat left Friday evening against the Islamic Society of Pinellas County.

Schnitzler told FBI agents that he did indeed leave the message shortly after he heard about the terrorist attacks in Paris which had been carried out by ISIS. Schnitzler said the attacks made him “very mad.”

To locate a suitable target for his rage, Schnitzler did an Internet search for “Islam” and “Pinellas County” and then dialed the numbers he found, leaving this message:

“This act in France is the last straw. You’re going to f*cking die.”

While he was at it, Schnitzler also warned:

“I personally have a militia that’s going to come down to your Islamic Society of Pinellas County and firebomb you, shoot whoever’s there on sight in the head. I don’t care if they’re f*cking 2 years old or 100.”

The less-than-brilliant man apparently also forgot that caller ID picked up his number the moment he was connected to the first mosque’s phone number. And when he also left his name, it was an open and shut case for the cops.

Schnitzler has been charged with making a telephonic threat to kill, injure or intimidate using fire or an explosive, and he faces up to 10 years in prison if convicted. He was released on $10,000 bond and ordered to stay away from all mosques.

I suppose the one thing we can be thankful for is that so many of these wannabe domestic terrorists also happen to be so freaking stupid.

So here’s a bit of free advice for Mr. Schnitzler: Stay off the phone, man.
