Donald Trump, apparently under the impression that he has a snowball’s chance in hell of being elected President of the United States, declared that former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton had killed “hundreds of thousands of people with her stupidity” during an appearance on Fox News.
While he was at it, Trump also predicted that if the election comes down to him or Clinton, he would win handily:
“She’s got no strength, she got no stamina. Everything she does is like theatrical. She’s the one that caused all this problem with her stupid policies. You look at what she did with Libya, what she did with Syria, look at Egypt.”
Hamster Head Donald also repeated one of his favorite insults about the Democratic frontrunner:
“She was truly — if not ‘the’ — one of the worst secretary of states in this history of the country. She talks about me being dangerous, she’s killed hundreds of thousands of people with her stupidity.”
Host Chris Wallace was skeptical of Trump’s claim, asking:
“What do you mean she’s killed hundreds of thousands?”
Trump said the “Middle East is a total disaster” because of President Obama and Secretary Clinton:
“She traveled back and forth, but look at all problems. Look at as an example, Iraq, total disaster. They didn’t get us in but they got us out badly.”
This completely overlooks the fact that the unneeded war in Iraq–which was begun by George W. Bush, Dick Cheney, and Donald Rumsfeld–is the very reason the Middle East is such a “total disaster” today. Before that, the Middle East was in a fragile balance which was upset when we elected to go into Iraq and depose Saddam Hussein. Was Hussein a murderous tyrant? Most certainly. But was he any worse than what his absence has spawned, ISIS?
Despite his own ignorance of world affairs, Trump then remarked:
“Look at Libya, look at Benghazi. Our ambassador, he wired her five or six hundred times asking for help. She’ll take her friend’s call every time.”
You mean kind of like you always take the calls of foreign businessmen with shady pasts and questionable ties to terrorist groups around the world, Donald?
Finally, Trump engaged in wild fantasy by saying:
“Hillary Clinton doesn’t have the judgement, she doesn’t have the strength or the stamina. She will be a terrible president — and I think I’ll win.”
I have my own prediction for a Clinton-Trump contest in 2016: Clinton wins in a landslide of the popular vote and rings up 45 states in the Electoral College. And Trump has to slink back to the pool of slime he crawled out of.
