Conservative British Columnist Tries To Declare War On Iran…On America’s Behalf!

Until today, I had never heard of British conservative columnist Louise Mensch. Who is she? Well, she’s a former ultra right wing Member of Parliament in the United Kingdom who not so long ago moved to New York so she could better serve the intents of Rupert Murdoch, for whom she works.

Kinda tells you all you need to know, doesn’t it?

As most of us were sleeping earlier this morning, Ms. Mensch decided the little misunderstanding between the United States and Iran over some American sailors who drifted into Iranian waters (just imagine if the opposite had happened; Trump would have wanted to touch off a nuclear war), and caused a minor diplomatic rift which was easily smoothed over when the sailors were released without incident, did not escalate as she thinks it should, so she began sending out hateful tweets to the Iranian leader Hassan Rouhani. The first one goes a little something like this:

Gonna be a long wait on that rejoicing, Louise, but feel free to dream your hateful dreams to your tiny heart’s content.

Then Mensch gets really pissed off and lets fly with this one:

How does Mensch know that the female sailor was “forced” to wear a hijab, and is that really such a big deal? The sailor was in Iran, and Iranian custom is for women to wear a hijab. This is worth starting a war over? Gimme a break!

But this entire thing brings us to a much larger and more vital point: Much of what Louise Mensch said would not have been the least bit controversial at a GOP debate such as the one which will take place later this evening. And that is why the Republicans–and their media acolytes–must never be given the title of Commander-in-Chief unless they plan to send their children–not mine, not yours–to fight the endless, pointless wars they love to start.
