Claims Are Surfacing About Donald Trump And 9/11 That He May Regret

It seems that claims of Donald Trump’s lack of support to 9/11 charities are causing quite the debate. Everyone knows that Trump cannot go a minute without bragging about his poll numbers or how much he is worth. Also, with the latest rift between him and Ted Cruz over New York “values,” it seems many right-wingers cannot fathom the thought that Trump was greedy with 9/11 charities.

The site Red State for example claims:

“According to a thorough review, Trump didn’t see fit to give any of those millions of dollars he is always bragging about to help out the men, women, children, cops, firefighters, office workers … hey, let’s just call them New Yorkers, who were killed or who lost someone in the terror of September 11th. In fact, his supposedly philanthropic foundation hasn’t given them a single penny.”

Wow. Now to back up this claim, Red State cites a 2003 report from The Foundation Center. In the report that lists institutional donors, the Donald J. Trump Charitable Foundation cannot be found.

Now the site, The Smoking Gun, goes further and claims:

“Since 2001, the Trump foundation’s tax returns contain a single donation that is identifiable with a 9/11 charity. In 2006, Trump gave $1000 to a controversial Scientology program that administered treatment to firemen who inhaled toxins while working on the World Trade Center pile.”

The Scientology thing would explain a lot at this point. Rounding out the claims is a piece by Raw Story that says:

“Trump’s campaign previously responded to the Smoking Gun’s allegations by saying that they made donations to the Red Cross, however those donations went into the Red Cross general fund and not one designated specifically for 9/11 relief.”

With all of these claims about Trump’s greediness – is it really that surprising? – it seems many right-wingers are not happy with them. In fact, just go to Red State and The Smoking Gun and read the comments section. It’s rather entertaining.
