In a “Face the Nation” interview this morning, Jan. 24, Donald Trump was making the usual rounds on Sunday morning political shows. While Trump offered the usual answers to relatively softball questions from host John Dickerson, one question seemed stand out.
A few minutes into the interview, Dickerson asked:
“What’s your definition of Conservative?”
Trump replied by saying:
“Well I think it’s a person that doesn’t want to take awkwardly risk, I think that’s a good thing. I think it’s a person that wants to — in terms of government I’m talking about — a person that wants to conserve. A person that wants to, in a financial sense, balance budgets. A person that feels strongly about the military, and I feel very strongly about the military, and you know you have some of these people, they don’t even want to focus on the military. Our military is falling apart.”
Well thank you Mr. Trump for describing our great president Barack Obama. First of all, President Obama has an excellent track record in regards to weighing risks by using diplomacy versus immediate military action.
Secondly, President Obama has done an amazing job at turning the country around from the financial crisis it was in in 2008. Since Obama took office, unemployment rates are down, he saved the American auto industry, guarded citizens against unlawful lending practices, and the list of his achievements goes on. While the naysayers will no doubt dispute this with Fox-like statistics and blind hateful rhetoric, it’s okay, the truth hurts sometimes.
Lastly, President Obama is a, “person that feels strongly about the military.” Whether it’s fighting for our veteran’s healthcare, expanding access to education, or to fighting homelessness; Barack Obama has fought for our veterans from the beginning. Also, you might want to tell your cheerleader, Sarah Palin, to tone it down a bit when it comes to a veteran’s issues; her last outing wasn’t exactly well received.
So thanks Trump for educating us on what a ‘Conservative’ is, I’m sure President Obama will appreciate your support.
