Buyer’s Remorse? Ben Carson Now Says He Wishes He Hadn’t Endorsed Trump

One day we may well look back on this year’s Presidential race and wonder how we ever survived all the twists and turns without getting permanent whiplash and also breaking a rib or two from laughing.

Just last week, Dr. Ben Carson stood next to GOP front-runner Donald Trump and endorsed him, saying there are “two Donald Trumps” and that he would be supporting the one he had come to admire.

And then we arrive at Monday, with Carson now claiming he wishes he had endorsed someone else. Carson made the remarks to Newsmax, adding that he wishes things had worked out differently in the primaries and he’d be able to endorse someone else:

“I have to look at what is practical and what is going to save this country and the American dream for the next generation. Is there another scenario that I would have preferred? Yes. But that scenario isn’t available.”

What?! Sorry, but can anyone make heads or tails out of that mumbo jumbo that just leaked out of Carson’s lips?

A few seconds later, Carson finally gave us the real reason he decided to throw his support behind Trump. He was going on about how much good Trump can do as President (Trump doing good?!):

“I do believe, and certainly in my discussions with Donald Trump, he does love America and he does want to be successful. And, he will surround himself with very good people.”

Carson was then asked if one of those people might be him. He replied:

“I will be doing things as well, yeah. Certainly in an advisory capacity.”

Ah, there it is: Carson is getting a job if Trump should happen to win in November. He has a gig waiting for him in some form or another. Secretary of Education? Surgeon General? The mind reels with possibilities. And when you consider some of the crazy stuff Carson has said over the past few months, it quickly becomes obvious that he is qualified for no job of any real importance. But the clueless are often drawn to others who have no idea what is going on. So in a way you could say the Carson-Trump alliance makes perfect sense.
