Here’s Why Fundies May Not Be Controlling The Right Wing Much Longer

Religion is definitely a big part of the Republican right wing movement. These strict fundamentalists (a.k.a. “fundies) are against gay rights, women’s rights, and many other progressive issues. The evangelical Christians are the heavyweights of the right.

Mormons have some influence as well. Trump and his controversial statements are making it hard for fundies to support him. Fortunately, Trump is going down in the polls, so hopefully he will not win the General Election. Trump is dividing the Christian right.

Voters are starting to look more toward a candidate’s worldview instead of just their religious affiliation. The emphasis needs to be on the candidates political stance.

This isn’t a new thing. Catholic schools were pretty popular after the Revolutionary War. By the mid-1960s, over 4.5 million children were enrolled in Catholic elementary schools. These schools teach religion to impressionable kids.

Now, these Christians are standing against history. The Supreme Court has made gay marriage legal across the country, abortion has not been completely banned, and Americans are becoming more secular.

Fundies have even come out against dinosaurs because they go against the Creation myth. There is one group that forces child rape victims to have babies.

Social progress has given birth to the idea that American Christians are being discriminated against. They can’t push their religion, so they must be under attack! Totally logical…

Their extreme beliefs are going out of style. Here are some of the “conspiracy theories” that fundies ACTUALLY believe. Planned Parenthood is hooking kids on sex. Chinese people are eating aborted fetuses.

We have the sep  aration of church and state in our Constitution. We just need to quit electing these fundies that are supporting these ridiculous ideas. Also if these fundies are wanting to get into politics so badly, the churches should be paying taxes.
