Sometimes art reflects life, and others life tends to imitate art in ways that seem almost surreal. Such is the case with the upcoming Democratic and GOP primaries in New York state. Jimmy Kimmel has noticed the similarities and made use of them last night on his show.
As part of a brilliant parody video, Kimmel unveiled a matchup of Sanders as Captain America and Trump as Iron Man, doing battle. As Kimmel noted when introducing the video:
“There are some interesting parallels in this presidential election and the movie, Captain America Civil War. Both of them feature former friends who are now enemies. Both feature powerful men and women who are also cartoon characters.”
Then, with a flourish before the video was shown, Kimmel said:
“This summer, an all-American idealist faces off against a diabolical billionaire.”
