Top MSNBC Host Vows Not To Vote For Trump (VIDEO)

On a network that has acknowledged its left-leaning ways, former Congressmen-turned-morning-show-host Joe Scarborough is a well-respected conservative voice. A day after Donald Trump officially became the last man standing in the GOP nomination race, Scarborough vowed he would not support Trump.

Even though Trump has made numerous appearances on Scarborough’s program, Morning Joe, there is at least one policy position he says he can never support. Scarborough stated yesterday that:

“I’m never going to vote for a guy who says they are going to ban somebody because of the god they worship. And he’s got to have to make that turn fast. He didn’t do it yesterday. Maybe he does it over the next couple of weeks.”

Trump’s stated intentions to use an executive order to ban all Muslims entering the United States played well for him on the campaign trail so far. The proposal falls right in line with his overall populist, ethnocentric message.

Of course, the possibility that such a ban would be unconstitutional and runs contrary to the very principle America was founded on, doesn’t seem to alarm Trump’s core group.

As for Scarborough, some were quick to point out that he may be leaving the door open intentionally to change his position and support Trump later this year. Many objective observers have noted that Morning Joe has seemed to be “in the bag” for Trump throughout this nomination process.

Those observers need only to point back to the “hot mic” issue from a few months back when Trump thanked both Scarborough and his co-host, Mika Brzezinski for being “supporters.”

Even if Scarborough does stay true to his word and withholds his support for Donald Trump, it’s unlikely the GOP nominee is going to get too lonely. He’s got all the media friends he could ever want.
