WATCH: Geraldo Caught With A Hot Mic During Bernie Sanders Victory Speech

Oh, don’t you just love those fun technological glitch moments? Like when a news person accidentally speaks his mind while his mic is live?

That’s what happened the other night when Geraldo Rivera was appearing on Fox News with Sean Hannity. According to a report in RawNews, after Bernie Sanders handily won the West Virginia primary, Fox decided to air a few minutes of his victory speech.

At first I wasn’t sure why they would do that. Fox? Airing a Democrat’s victory speech? I had to watch! Then it became very clear why they were featuring Bernie. Sean Hannity previewed Sanders’ speech by saying:

“We’re just gonna dip in real quick and watch the Socialist, Bernie Sanders, step up to the microphone. There he is…you know….’To each according to his needs, from each according to his ability.’ Spread the wealth. Tax people at 98 percent. That’s pretty much the message of Bernie Sanders.”

Brilliant, huh? Not only hasn’t the Sanders campaign ever used this quote made famous by Karl Marx, but Hannity messed it up anyway. And I dare anyone to find a place where Sanders is advocating that we tax people at 98 percent.

These guys just make stuff up, throw it at the wall, and see if it sticks.

But the video gets even better, because Hannity’s lies are interrupted by the unmistakeable whining voice of Geraldo Rivera:

It’s so annoying! This guy is so annoying!”

Hannity laughs and calls out:

“You’re mic is hot! What are you saying?”

But you don’t think the fact that all of his listeners could hear him would get Geraldo to tone it down, do you?

Hell, no. No professionalism needed on this station. Instead, when Hannity points out the open mic, Geraldo keeps right on going.

“I’m saying that he’s so annoying. And people who think that his supporters are going to go to Donald Trump are smoking dope.”

The ever-respectful Fox News pundits then engage in a little back and forth about polls, voters and Trump. They talk right over Sanders.  Of course they do. The viewers get to hear exactly one sentence of his victory speech.

They had no intention of ever showing a balanced or professional view of the primary results.

Fox News just keeps on not surprising me.
