It’s not uncommon to think (or hope) that when someone does something absolutely awful and earns the hatred and ire of half a country, they’d slink back into the shadows and attempt to live a quieter life. Unfortunately, that is not (and never has been) the case with the ever-unrepentant murderer George Zimmerman.
In a moment of absolutely breathtakingly opportunistic sadism, Zimmerman is making himself the center of attention once more by auctioning off the weapon he used to kill Trayvon Martin in 2012. The auction is set to begin at 11am today with an initial bid of $5,000 USD, and it will run for exactly 24 hours. And if you haven’t guessed it, the item description is just teeming with disgusting rhetoric:
“The firearm for sale is the firearm that was used to defend my life and end the brutal attack from Trayvon Martin on 2/26/2012. The gun… has recently been returned to me by the Department of Justice…Many have expressed interest in owning and displaying the firearm including The Smithsonian Museum in Washington D.C. This is a piece of American History. It has been featured in several publications and in current University text books. Offers to purchase the Firearm have been received; however, the offers were to use the gun in a fashion I did not feel comfortable with. The firearm is fully functional as the attempts by the Department of Justice on behalf of B. Hussein Obama to render the firearm inoperable were thwarted by my phenomenal Defense Attorney. I recognize the purchaser’s ownership and right to do with the firearm as they wish. The purchaser is guaranteed validity and authenticity of the firearm. On this day, 5/11/2016 exactly one year after the shooting attempt to end my life by BLM sympathizer Matthew Apperson I am proud to announce that a portion of the proceeds will be used to: fight BLM violence against Law Enforcement officers, ensure the demise of Angela Correy’s persecution career and Hillary Clinton’s anti-firearm rhetoric. Now is your opportunity to own a piece of American History.”
Unbelievable. I barely know where to start. I can’t imagine how terribly trying it must have been for Zimmerman to shoot a “brutal” unarmed teenager in cold blood. How can you not feel sorry for this guy?
I love how he claims other people have attempted to purchase the gun, but he was uncomfortable with how they were going to use it only to immediately say “I recognize the purchaser’s right to do with the firearm as they wish.”
So once again, Zimmerman is using his position as a racist murderer for the purposes of turning a profit. It’s abundantly clear that he will continue to un-apologetically milk the murder of Trayvon Martin for all the money his racist gun nut supporters are worth.
But perhaps even more concerning than that, I wonder who will win the auction and what they’ll do with that weapon.
