‘Beware Of Socialism And Slavery In Our Schools!’ Screams Fox News

There are many families across the U.S. who have decided to homeschool their children rather than sending them to the local public school system. Most of those parents probably have good reasons for making that decision.

But one woman on “Fox & Friends” this week had a uniquely hilarious reason for keeping her kids out of the classroom — Bernie Sanders.

Sam Sorbo, wife of not-particularly-famous actor Kevin Sorbo, appeared on the show to talk about why she homeschools her children. RawStory described the interview as a rant against our (ahem) “broken schools.”

Exactly what is broken in our public schools is a little hard to determine, but Ms. Sorbo was clear that they are a mess.

She referred to “9 overhauls of the public school system,” moaning that those overhauls were inadequate. (As a retired teacher for more than 30 years, I have no idea what 9 events she is referring to, just for the record.)

She warned parents that every time they drop their children off at school or put them on that big yellow bus, they are giving up all of their authority, and their kids know it. She also complained that homework is “intolerable!”

Then, in a moment of true lunacy, the home schooling queen gave her most dire warning to all the parents listening. Her voice shaking and shrill, in this video she yells::

“But here we have a system that is indoctrinating our children into slavery! And the proof of that is Bernie Sanders! Because you have a whole group of students now who believe in socialism! And they weren’t taught that socialism is the greatest form of slavery known to mankind!”

No. They probably weren’t taught that. They probably learned about Africans being kidnapped and sold into slavery by those early American capitalists.

But this is Fox News. We wouldn’t want to let facts interfere. Just be reassured that Bernie Sanders isn’t actually behind a plot to turn your school aged kids into mindless slaves for socialism.

Yeesh. Where do they dig up these people?
