Elementary Student Poisons A Classmate’s Drink (VIDEO)

A fifth-grader in Florida could be facing attempted murder charges. She poisoned a classmate’s water bottle with bleach. The child also had a hit list.

This incident happened a couple of weeks ago when the victim took a sip of her water and noticed that it tasted funny. She didn’t think anything of it because the bottle was sealed. Luckily, she didn’t get sick from it.

If the State Attorney’s office decides to press charges, the suspect could be charged with poisoning and attempted murder.

This incident seems to have been planned for Friday the 13th. The victim’s mom thinks that the suspect has a hit list in her notebook. The school has removed the student for the duration of the investigation.

Principal Delilah Rabeiro had this to say about the incident:

“Temple Terrace police and the state attorney’s office are investigating. We have identified the student involved, and law enforcement and the state attorney’s office are handling the situation.”

The victim’s mother hopes the suspect gets help but believes the child deserves the criminal charges.

Surprisingly, this is not the first incident of poisoning at a school in Florida. In February, three students faced felony charges for poisoning their teacher. They put red pepper flakes in her soda, and she got sick from it.

The victim was 52-year-old Jayne Morgan, a language arts teacher. Earlier that week, Morgan had sent the student in question to the principal’s office for:

“…dumping glue into another student’s backpack and for suspicion of stealing a laptop computer.”

The 12-year-old was angered by the punishment, so she hatched a plan to bring in red pepper flakes from home.

When Morgan took a sip of the drink, she experienced shortness of breath and a burning sensation in her throat. She poured out the soda into a clear cup and could see the flakes in it. Morgan told police that she had stomach pains the entire evening.

Morgan said this about the incident:

“I want them to have a consequence that teaches them a lesson. I did not want them to be arrested and go to jail. I love my students. They broke my heart. My career won’t be the same.”

What are kids doing these days? I had teachers I didn’t like, but I would never have thought of poisoning them.
