Bill Nye Visits The ‘Ark Encounter’ – ‘These Kids Are Being Brainwashed’ (VIDEO)

Creationist nut-job, Ken Ham, president of “Answers in Genesis,” has opened an absolutely ridiculous “museum” in Kentucky. It is called “The Ark Encounter,” and it is a supposedly accurate portrayal of the Noah’s Ark story in the Bible. The founder is the same man who is responsible for the Creation Museum.

When “The Ark Encounter” opened this week, there were groups of atheists and non-believers protesting. The Freedom from Religion Foundation issued a memo warning public schools not to plan field trips to it.

On Friday, Ken Ham invited science educator Bill Nye to the Ark Encounter. Nye walked around with a camera crew, and he engaged in an impromptu debate with Ham.

Nye’s conclusion: kids are being “brain-washed.” He said:

“This could be just a charming piece of Americana, just something — I recently used an app called Roadtrippers that takes you to odd or unusual places…but this is much more serious than that. This guy promotes so very strongly that climate change is not a serious problem, that humans are not causing it, that some deity will see to it that everything is ok.”

Ham defended his “Answers in Genesis” scientists in a Facebook post:

“When I mentioned AiG’s PhD scientists, Bill said they were all incompetent–so I encouraged him to speak with them. I had opportunity to share the gospel with Bill a number of times as we strolled through the Ark. As we ended our walk through the 1st deck in front of life-size models of Noah and his family who were depicted praying, I asked Bill if he would mind if I prayed, and if I could I pray for him. He said I could do whatever I want as he couldn’t stop me. So while a large group of people were gathered around, I publicly prayed for Bill.”

I guess he thinks praying for Nye is some huge deal. It doesn’t make Ham’s science less faulty.

Nye protested the Ark being built because it will:

“…Indoctrinate children into this extraordinary and outlandish, unscientific point of view.”
