Professor Obama Shows Why He Is An Irreplaceable President (VIDEO)

President Barack Obama has certainly made his fair share of history.

He was, as everyone knows, the first African American to become the President of the United States of America.

Some of us were brought to tears and chills on the momentous day when Barack Obama was sworn in as President. And that joy was doubled when he won his second term.

Barack Obama has done a lot that has been historic. The Affordable Care Act is what comes to mind first. For the very first time in American history, citizens could not be denied medical insurance if they were sick. This was a big, big deal.

Now the website Proud Democrat is reporting that Barack Obama has become the first sitting president in United States history to publish an academic paper.

It is no easy task to have an academic paper published, as anyone in the academic world can attest.

Nevertheless, President Obama managed to submit a piece of writing to the very much admired Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA).  The writing was published.

The paper was titled:

United States Health Care Reform

Progress to Date and Next Steps

The paper focused on the changes to health insurance offered under the Affordable Care Act. As an academic paper, it used data to show the decline in the number of uninsured citizens in our country.

The paper went on to recommend that legislators continue to build on the obvious successes of the ACA. It suggested that:

“Policy makers should build on progress made by the Affordable Care Act by continuing to implement the Health Insurance Marketplaces and delivery system reform, increasing federal financial assistance for Marketplace enrollees, introducing a public plan option in areas lacking individual market competition, and taking actions to reduce prescription drug costs. Although partisanship and special interest opposition remain, experience with the Affordable Care Act demonstrates that positive change is achievable on some of the nation’s most complex challenges.”

So there we have it. Our history making president has also become the first person to hold his office and to simultaneously have a published article in the very prestigious New England Journal Of Medicine.

Not. Too. Shabby.

I guess when some of us are forced to accept the reality of what makes our public officials special, we can call celebrate the fact that our most recent president was an honest-t0-god- brainiac.

I know that I’ll miss him and his humor, his intelligence and his warmth.

How about you?
