The ‘Never Trump’ Movement Might Have One Last Ace Up Their Sleeve (VIDEO)

The Never Trump movement has lost their bid for a sane candidate yesterday. Their last thread of hope has been was cut short on the Republican National Convention floor and Donald Trump (R-N.Y.) will be ushered in.

The Never Trump movement was effectively steamrolled at the GOP convention amid an uproar during a bid for a roll call vote, which was denied by Rep. Steve Womack (R-Ariz.) twice during a voice vote, caused heated exchanges on the convention floor.

These Anti-Trump delegates could only force a roll call vote, which allows supporters to submit new names for consideration for the Republican Presidential Nominee if the movement had support from at least seven delegations.

It has been reported that the Never Trump group had signatures in support of a roll call vote from at least nine delegations, including Wyoming, Maine, and Minnesota.

The Never Trump movement was aiming to create a call for a new Republican nominee, something the group has been working for since before Trump was named the presumptive winner of the Republican primaries. Another rule they were trying to strike down was the one that states that pledged delegates cannot switch their vote.

Alas, the Never Trump Movement was not to win this last stand.

Rep. Womack, who presided over the voice vote, claimed that three delegations had withdrawn support for a role call vote. After two heated voice votes on the convention floor, Womack proclaimed that the ‘ayes’ had won the vote to proceed with the convention rules.

That move stamped the Never Trump Movement into dust.

If there is one silver lining to the blocking of the vote by Republican officials, it’s this… Trump has not unified the party, nor has he in captured the hearts of all Republicans, as he’d like you to believe.

Republicans still have once chance to have a White House that’s still standing in four years, however. Her name is Hillary Clinton. Do you think the Never Trump movement will switch to Clinton in the general election?
