Debbie Wasserman Schultz RESIGNS Amid Leaked Email Scandal (VIDEO)

Leaked emails from Debbie Wasserman Schultz show that she has been stumping for former Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton, all along. This confirms suspicions that so many progressives have had for ages now.

Senator Bernie Sanders’ campaign manager, Jeff Weaver told CNN,

“I think what the signal was today is that the voices of Bernie Sanders supporters have been heard … And other people, frankly, in the party, Hillary Clinton supporters, who felt this was the last straw, that she had to go, and this shows they have been heard and gives us opportunity to move forward toward November — united to deal with the problem of Donald Trump.”

Will this news push some of the #BernierOrBust types even further away from the Democratic Party?

Sen. Sanders wanted a more Progressive platform, which he received. In return, he agreed to back off of his push to boot Wasserman Schultz as the Democratic National Committee Chair. Her resignation could very well ignite some blowback from the Sanders die-hards. Many of those still in his camp will gather on the convention floor this week.

President Obama’s statement, made available on the White House website, was subdued and unbiased:

“For the last eight years, Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz has had my back.  This afternoon, I called her to let her know that I am grateful.”

He continued with statements highlighting Wasserman Schultz’s contributions during the course of his presidency. He did not mention the email leaks.

The Right responded with schadenfreude, of course, with Donald Trump and Republican National Committee Chair Reince Priebus both taking to Twitter to comment on the story.

Consider, however, another angle to this story. It’s possible, though not probable, that her resignation helps bring the left together.

Perhaps the left can now focus its collective energy on the most important goal of all — the defeat of Donald Trump. She may not be the perfect progressive candidate, but the Supreme Court nominations alone should be enough to choose Clinton.
