We were shocked this week by the despicable threat that Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump made about Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton.
While he was at a rally talking about Clinton nominating Supreme Court Justices, he said:
“By the way, and if she gets the pick—if she gets the pick of her judges, nothing you can do, folks. Although the Second Amendment people, maybe there is, I dunno.”
A Trump supporter, Greg from Michigan, called into C-Span and spewed these remarks:
“Number one, Mr. Trump was not threatening assassination of Hillary. But what he was implying and could happen is if Hillary got her way and did do away with Second Amendment rights, there are a lot of us who are gun owners who are going to object to that very strongly. And since we do have firearms, it might if it comes down to it be us having to defend our rights with those guns, just as the revolutionaries did in the Revolutionary War.”
This is freaky. It sounds like this guy wants to create his own redneck, Trump-loving militia. You’ll be able to spot them by their orange face paint.
What are Hillary Clinton’s views on guns?
She is not trying to take away everyone’s guns. She is proposing common sense solutions to stop the violence. She wants to expand background checks and get rid of the gun show loophole.
Keeping guns from getting into the wrong hands is also important; domestic abusers and people suffering from serious mental illnesses should not be able to have guns.
I can’t keep track of how many times I have said this, but your guns are not getting confiscated. If you are a law-abiding citizen, you can get a gun. We just need to regulate them a little more.
