The Kennedy Family Remarks On Trump’s ‘Second Amendment People’ Threats (VIDEO)

 

Republican presidential nominee, Donald Trump, shocked us all when he said he wants Democratic presidential nominee, Hillary Clinton, shot.

Trump was at a rally in North Carolina when he said:

“By the way, and if she gets the pick—if she gets the pick of her judges, nothing you can do, folks. Although the Second Amendment people, maybe there is, I dunno.”

The Kennedy family penned a scathing op-ed about Trump’s vile threats for the Washington Post. This family has been through two major assassinations, and they know that it is not a thing to joke about.

Jean Kennedy Smith and William Kennedy Smith, the sister and nephew of President John F. Kennedy and Senator Robert F. Kennedy, penned the article together against Trump’s hateful message.

Bobby Kennedy gave a moving speech on April 4, 1968 when Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was shot and killed.

The words he spoke have become one of the most famous quotes of his campaign. He died later that year:

“What we need in the United States is not division; what we need in the United States is not hatred; what we need in the United States is not violence and lawlessness, but is love, and wisdom, and compassion toward one another, and a feeling of justice toward those who still suffer within our country, whether they be white or whether they be black.”

Further in the column, the writers said:

“Anyone who loves politics, the open competition of ideas and public participation in a free society, knows that political violence is the greatest of all civic sins. It is not to be encouraged. It is not funny. It is not a joke.”

This family knows about the damage of political assassinations. Violence against a political rival should not be joked about. Of course, Trump is the same man who made fun of a disabled reporter, insulted a Gold Star family, and many other things.
