Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump’s daughter-in-law was speaking at a church on Sunday. She had a quote in mind to use to insult Democratic presidential nominee, Hillary Clinton, but she forgot it.
Well, she did marry a Trump; we can’t expect her to be a MENSA member.
Antioch Road to Glory International Ministries in Charlotte, North Carolina held an endorsement day for Donald Trump. This in itself is blatantly wrong, but at least someone managed to screw it up for The Donald.
Lara Trump, Donald’s daughter-in-law, appeared at this event with a former contestant on The Apprentice, Omarosa Manigault.
CNN Host Fredricka Whitfield spoke with Lara Trump and Eric Trump’s senior assistant, Lynne Patton. Trump said that her father-in-law has “100 percent” support from this church.
The church was under fire recently for a Facebook post smearing Clinton by writing:
“Supporting Hillary is like being with an abusive ex, one that you already know left you broken and wounded. At this point, give the new guy a chance.”
Lara said:
“I had nothing to do with the Facebook page but what I’ll tell you is that there’s a famous quote that says… Wait, I forgot my quote!”
Patton reminded Lara about the quote from Albert Einstein:
“The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.”
Lara said this afterward. I guess she could remember part of the insult she meant to drop:
“What we have is eight years of the same result. You have with Hillary Clinton the same thing you got with Barack Obama.”
Lara also said this about being in North Carolina:
“It’s still my favorite place in the whole world. It takes moving away to New York, the greatest city in the world, to realize what a gem we have there. When I’m here, I take time to sit outside on the deck, relax and escape the busy pace of life. And think about how lucky I am to come from a place like Wrightsville Beach.”
