New Clinton Ad Goes After Trump’s… Hats (VIDEO)

Commercials around election time can often be some of the most annoying, repetitive, and irritating things on the planet. But every so often, you get an ad that makes you raise your fist and restores your hope in democracy.

Hillary Clinton’s brand-new ad brings us these feelings all over again as she attacks Donald Trump’s “Make America Great Again” hats.

Clinton has done a solid job pointing out the inadequacies in Trump’s campaign, and this video is no exception.

The ad calls attention to the irony behind this slogan. While Trump claims to want to bring jobs to America, he outsources many of his business ventures to other countries.

Trump shirts, ties, home items, hotel items, and beverages (among other products) are produced in several different countries, including China, Bangladesh, Honduras, Vietnam, and Germany.

As the ad says:

“You can’t make America great again if you don’t make things in America.”

Of course, anything branded with “Make America Great Again” is, in fact, made in America. At least there’s that.

Attacking The ‘Businessman’

Polls show Trump trailing Clinton, but they also show that voters believe in his experience as a businessman. This ad aims to cut that belief at the source, showing that while Trump may have a successful business record, the success came in the form of cheap labor in other countries.

The ad is currently airing in Pennsylvania, Iowa, Ohio, North Carolina, and Florida, and is viewable on YouTube.

Clinton has already brought these issues to the public, most recently in a speech in Warren, Michigan, earlier this month:

“Now, before he tweets about how he’s really one who’ll put ‘America first’ in trade, let’s remember where Trump makes many of his own products because it’s sure not America. He’s made Trump ties in China and Trump suits in Mexico instead of here in Michigan. He keeps saying it’s not possible to make these things in America anymore. That’s just wrong.”

Who would you rather have in office – someone who outsources their products, or someone who believes our country is more than capable of producing goods on its own soil?

The choice is clear, America.
