Donald Trump Starts Talking About Education: Never Finishes The Sentence (Video)

This week was scheduled to be Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump’s big week on education.

However, his positions on education have taken a backseat to his confusing views on immigration. The man just can’t seem to make up his mind.

Not to mention his scheduled meeting with Mexican President Pena Nieto. Trump is expected to meet and hold a press conference with Nieto on Wednesday, August 31.

His changing views on immigration and his trip to Mexico will and have overshadowed any message he could possibly make about education.

There have been some hints that Trump would like to make a serious statement about education. He has appointed Rob Goad as his education policy adviser. Goad has worked for Indiana GOP Representative Luke Messer in Congress. He specifically worked on school choice issues and k-12 policy while in Messer’s office.

With that being said, Trump has still not delivered on his promise to talk about education reform. He definitely has not offered any policy changes either.

What he has offered is the usual “trumped’ up rhetoric promising to bring about major change. At a speech in Wilmington, North Carolina, Trump promised to uproot the Common Core standards that most states have adopted. He said:

“School choice we want, Common Core we don’t want….We’ve got to get rid of Common Core, bring educational…”

Of course this sentence was never completed. He quickly moved on to other topics, never bringing up the subject of education reform again.

This type of bluster is typical of Donald Trump. He often gets caught making surface remarks about various topics. He rarely goes deeper and almost never offers any concrete solutions to fix America’s problems.

Trump’s typical problem-solving style is not winning him any love from the education party establishment. Both sides of the aisle are skeptical about anything he has to say.

They know that it will either be empty words or something so radical no one could possibly get behind it.

If Trump were smart, he would try and develop a detailed education strategy. Education is one of those topics that grabs people’s attention. If he adopted a moderate Republican-based education policy he could possibly sway some moderates who have decided to support Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton.

But we all know that Trump is not the sensible type. He is going to continue on with his crazy political decisions and his rallies filled with empty words.

What he doesn’t realize is that Clinton will eat him alive with this type of strategy.

Or maybe he just doesn’t care.

Here is the video of Donald Trump in Wilmington, North Carolina. You’ll have to listen carefully to his one-sentence monologue on education:
