‘Welcome To The 4th Grade’ — New Teacher’s Catchy Music Video Goes Viral (VIDEO)

Walking into his first year teaching, Dwayne Reed recorded the most adorable greeting for his new Stenson Elementary School, fourth grade class.

With today’s school becoming more and more focused on Science, Technology, Engineering and Math, or STEM, kids moving to the next grade level are starting to have some anxiety about the new school year.

Well, Mr Reed wasn’t going to let anyone enter his classroom with anything but excitement this school year. With the help of Ty Gotham, Reed made an irresistibly adorable video welcoming his new fourth-grade class to school.

In between the jokes, the explanation of curriculum, and the dancing he threw in some rules and guidelines but in a way you couldn’t help but sing along to. One of his lines he rapped stated:

“Have respect for each other and don’t forget me!”

Mr Reed recently appeared on ‘Good Morning America’ to talk about his video and discuss what inspired him to reach out to his students in such a creative manner. Reed told GMA:

“I just kind of wanted to spice up the old-fashioned newsletter, so I thought, ‘Man, I’m kind of good at music, I know how to put lyrics together well. Let’s go ahead and put a song that will get the kids excited’.”

This fourth-grade teacher just wanted his students to know that education takes hard work and perseverance but that there is no reason you can’t have fun while doing it.

Let’s hope every teacher walks into their classrooms this year with the same enthusiasm and readiness to educate our children that Mr Reed personifies in his video and the classroom.

Here’s his video, bet you can’t watch the whole thing without cracking a smile.
