Ding Dong The Witch Is Dead: Adios Phyllis Schlafly (VIDEO)

Phyllis Schlafly, an outspoken right-wing anti-feminist and social conservative leader, is dead at the age of 92.

Eagle Forum Founder, Opposed to Equal Rights Amendment

Schlafly was opposed to just about everything that would make life better for women and minorities. She didn’t believe that married women could be raped by their husbands. She wanted to impeach Anthony Kennedy for his role in abolishing the death penalty for minors. She endorsed Donald Trump for president. And that’s just a small list of her beliefs.

All in all, she was a pretty wretched woman.

No Stranger To Liberal America Staff

In “honor” of Mrs. Schlafly’s passing, I thought I’d write up this retrospective of Liberal America posts concerning things she said and did.

Just a little over a week ago, my colleague Andrew Bradford wrote about her wish to deny disaster services to those who don’t speak English. Lovely!

Darrell Lucas took her to task for her opinion that “too many women” on college campuses is the cause of campus rape. Wasn’t she just a peach?

She appeared on Andrew Bradford’s list of conservatives who have admitted they don’t want people to vote. As they know that more people voting means Democrats win.

The Eagle Forum’s stance on same-sex marriage came up in a piece by Darrell Lucas about the dumbest arguments against it. Honestly, I’m still waiting to hear a cogent, non-religious argument against it.

Lucas also wrote a piece that mentioned “the dumbest argument [he’s] ever heard against closing the pay gap.” Darrell, I agree 100 percent.

Adios, Mrs. Schlafly

To be absolutely fair here, I will say that several liberal talk show hosts, including Thom Hartmann and David Pakman, have said that Mrs. Schlafly is actually very nice in interviews. However, just because a snake has the power to charm someone doesn’t mean they’re not poisonous.

So good riddance, Mrs. Schlafly. You’re part of the reason that we STILL don’t have an Equal Rights Amendment. Sadly, I’m sure your hate will live on in the right-wing nutjobs that still walk among us. If I believed in Hell, I would expect there to be a place for you there.
