Trump Pledges To Expand US Military If He Wins Presidency (VIDEO)

If he wins the November 8 general election, Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump has said he will expand all areas of the US military.

He also called for more troops, more plans, and more boats at a rally in Philadelphia. This is on top of his plans for US generals to develop a plan to defeat the Islamic State within his first 30 days in the White House, should he win.

With recent polls showing the presidential race narrowing, Trump is playing to his supporters.

He has previously discussed his issues with defense, saying:

“Our military is a disaster.”

Despite this, some Republicans have stated that Trump is unfit to serve as US commander-in-chief.

Could Trump Be The Next Boss?

In his latest speech he called his vision for the US military:

“Peace through strength”

Which was followed by:

“I am proposing a new foreign policy focused on advancing America’s core national interests, promoting regional stability, and producing an easing of tensions in the world. This will require rethinking the failed policies.”

This new inclusion of US generals differs from the Trump we knew a year ago, who said things like:

“I know more about Isis (Islamic State) than the generals do. Believe me… I have a great plan. It’s going to be great. They ask: ‘What is it?’ Well, I’d rather not say. I’d rather be unpredictable.”

Now, Trump is asking his generals to present their plans for the defeat of ISIS in the first 30 days of him taking office.

He plans to pay for this by cutting government waste, collecting uncollected taxes, and slimming down the federal workforce. He also called for US Nato allies to meet their obligation to spend 2% of national income on defense

He Has Been Endorsed By 88 Former Military Leaders

Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton says American voters see Trump as a danger, whereas Trump called Clinton trigger happy and unstable.

She recently said that voters…

“…know they can count on me to be the kind of commander-in-chief who will protect our country and our troops, and they know they cannot count on Donald Trump.”

With just two months left to the general election, both candidates are ramping up their attacks.

Here are some things that Trump has said about the military:
