The way Donald Trump has acted on the campaign trail has a lot of people wondering if he’s a dictator in waiting. After all, he declared during his acceptance speech at the Republican National Convention that he alone can fix this nation’s problems. He’s also shown a staggering disregard for international law. Well, those fearing Trump has little respect for authority got some ammunition when a top Trump surrogate declared that those who oppose him will have to bow to him if he wins the White House.

Late Thursday night, PBS’ “Frontline” teased its upcoming special on the presidential election, “The Choice.” It will air on Tuesday night on most PBS member stations. One of the sample clips discusses the moment Trump decided to run for president–when President Obama mocked the then birther-in-chief at the 2011 White House Correspondents Dinner. Watch here.

Frontline spoke with Trump’s top African-American surrogate, Omarosa. The former reality star is now the head of African-American outreach for the Trump campaign. That makes her the head of one of the most exclusive clubs in America–blacks who support the Donald. She accompanied Trump to the dinner, and was on hand when President Obama likened Trump’s support of birtherism to a number of other conspiracy theories. She recalled that Trump seemed to have a “poker face.” However, when Obama continued skewering him, Omarosa wondered if he was “starting something that I don’t know if he’ll be able to finish.”

According to Trump biographer Michael D’Antonio, Trump hates being humiliated, and believes it’s a big reason that he tries to humiliate others. According to another top Trump surrogate and adviser, Roger Stone, Trump decided that night that he would run for president himself.

At roughly the 4:45 mark, Omarosa said something that has to be reproduced in full to be believed.

“Every critic, every detractor, will have to bow down to President Trump. It’s everyone who’s ever doubted Donald, who ever disagreed, who ever challenged him. It is the ultimate revenge to become the most powerful man in the universe.”

Apparently Omarosa forgets that we fought a war against a king who tried to make us bow down to him when we weren’t even represented in Parliament. But then again, Trump has forgotten all too often that he is running for president, not king.

Neither Omarosa nor Trump have had much to say since this video came out. But Twitter has certainly had a lot to say.

Here’s a news flash, Donald and Omarosa. If you manage to gaslight your way to the White House, I will not bow down to you. And neither will this blog, or anyone else in the reality-based world. There’s a simple reason for that–Americans do not bow and scrape before earthly rulers. And if you think we should, then your campaign is truly un-American.
