Rudy Giuliani, the former mayor of New York, told us recently that there were never terrorist attacks on the United States before Barack Obama was president. Now he says Hillary Clinton is “too stupid to be president.” Why? Because of the way she treated Monica Lewinsky in 1998.
What Did Hillary Do?
For readers who don’t remember those heady days, Monica Lewinsky was the 22-year-old White House intern with whom former president Bill Clinton had an extramarital relationship for 18 months or so. And when the relationship became public, he lied about it.
Eventually, he confessed. Then the House impeached him for lying about it. But he “won,” so he wasn’t booted from office.
What Hillary did was believe her husband when he lied, and stayed with him after the truth came out. At one point, she told a friend, privately, that Lewinsky was a
“…Narcissistic loony toon.”
The friend, Diane Blair, kept notes and a diary, where she recorded her conversations with Mrs. Clinton. After she died in 2000, Blair’s papers went to the archives at the University of Arkansas. The university made the papers available to the public in 2010. Four years later, an enterprising writer for the Washington Free Beacon traveled to Arkansas to read those papers and wrote about it. And other news sites picked up the story.
Giuliani’s Leaps of Logic
Giuliani must be spending way too much time with Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump. Because his thought process on this topic is very much like The Donald’s.
Here’s what happened. After the debate on Monday night, a British reporter asked Giuliani if Donald Trump is a feminist.
“Absolutely … I’ve known Donald Trump for 28 years. Women in his organization are paid the same as men. The president of his company is a woman. He is the first person ever to put a woman in charge of a construction company in New York…”

Giuliani added that Trump treats people fairly and that he was:
“…Too gentlemanly to say what I would have said about Hillary Clinton’s attack on him for not being a feminist.”
After just a little coaxing, Giuliani said that he would have talked about what Clinton did to Monica Lewinsky.
“Trying to paint her as an insane young woman when, in fact, Monica Lewinsky was an intern. President of the United States, her husband, disgraced this country with what he did in the Oval Office. And she, she didn’t just stand by him. She attacked Monica Lewinsky. And after being married to Bill Clinton for 20 years, if you didn’t know the moment Monica Lewinsky said that Bill Clinton violated her, she was telling the truth, then you’re too stupid to be president.”
But Monica Lewinsky never claimed that Bill Clinton “violated” her. The violation was the treatment she received from others.

Not Exactly A Model Husband
Actually, Giuliani is a lot more like Bill Clinton than he lets on. He’s on his third marriage, just like The Donald.
The first one ended in divorce, followed by annulment. While he was mayor of New York, he separated from his second wife, Donna Hanover – and the lucky woman learned about it when he announced it at a press conference.
When Giuliani wanted to have his latest love (who, to be fair, has been his wife for several years), come to the mayor’s mansion while his wife still lived there, Hanover got a court order keeping her out. I guess I can see why Giuliani thinks Trump is a gentleman.
