Conservatives Polled: ‘Do Trump’s Lewd Comments Change Your Vote?’ — Here Is The Result

If this poll is accurate, we can’t let up on the effort to get out the vote for Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton. The Conservative Firing Line website posted a poll asking Republicans:

“Do comments Donald Trump made 11 years ago change your vote?”

Most Voters’ Minds Unchanged

A whopping 93.5 percent of folks who responded answered that they were still going to vote for Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump. That’s 8,507 out of 9,098 votes. There were 170 (1.87 percent) who did not support Trump before the big news broke and still didn’t support him.

Only a tiny minority said they would no longer vote for Trump. Of those, 75 (0.82 percent) switched from Trump to Hillary Clinton. Libertarian presidential nominee Gary Johnson picked up 34 votes (0.37 percent) and third party candidate Evan McMullin picked up 16 (0.18 percent). Another 30 (0.33 percent) said they either would write in someone else or would not vote. And 48 (0.53 percent) had already voted, while 37 (0.41 percent) were never planning to vote anyway.

Voters Not Polled Randomly

1.99 percent of those polled (181 people) said that they hadn’t planned to vote for Trump before, but now they were supporting him. In other words, Trump gained more votes than he lost.

And, more than anything else, that’s what makes it obvious that this is not a scientific poll, in which likely voters are randomly selected in an attempt to represent the voting population as a whole. Thank goodness the readership of Conservative Firing Line does not reflect all American voters.
