A number of far-right militia outfits have vowed to go to war in hopes of overthrowing Hillary Clinton if she wins next week. But one prominent right-wing host openly wondered if that’s too late. He mused that some military elements might take it upon themselves to make a wave of arrests sometime this week in the name of saving the country.

On Monday’s edition of TruNews, host Rick Wiles was musing with co-hosts Ed Szall and Fior Hernandez about the FBI taking a new look at emails that may or may not be related to Hillary’s email server. People for the American Way’s Right Wing Watch got a clip.

Szall was amazed at the myriad of investigation–Hillary’s server, FBI director James Comey. He thought it was “unprecedented” for this to happen at this stage, and suggested it may be “the biggest scandal in U. S. history.”

Wiles mused that there were some 650,000 emails under question–and they could potentially “bring down the entire political establishment, including the Republican Party.” When Szall wondered if anything could happen then, Wiles suggested that the military could take matters into its own hands.

“The U. S. military may make arrests. Don’t count that out. This is a constitutional crisis. The U. S. military could act in order to save the republic from a collapse.”

Excuse me? How is the nation on the verge of collapse? Well, Szall offered one supposed answer–the government has been “infiltrated by an enemy organization.” Wiles agreed, saying they were doing so with the help of “a phony president.”

So let’s get this straight. After eight years of watching an “enemy organization” take over the government with the help of “phony president” Obama, the military is going to rise up and save the country with a wave of arrests. And supposedly, this will clear the way to help Trump start making America great again.

It’s very telling that a guy talking to much of Trump’s base was encouraging a military coup on the first day of business after the FBI waded into the race. Would they even be talking along those lines if Trump had made any real gains? Not likely.
