Michael Moore was one of the few prominent liberals who thought Donald Trump actually had a shot of winning. But winning the White House is one thing. Staying there is another–and the firebrand liberal filmmaker doesn’t think Trump will last a full term.

Moore stopped by MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” for what was supposed to be a seven-minute post-mortem on the election. However, once the conversation got rolling, host Joe Scarborough was so intrigued by what he heard that he let the conversation go for a full 45 minutes.

Watch the whole thing here. He said that the demonstrations we’ve seen since Wednesday were the start of “a massive resistance” to Trump’s incoming administration. For instance, he announced that there were already plans for a “Million Woman March” on Inauguration Day.

However, Moore doesn’t think that resistance will last as long as a lot of us may think Fifteen minutes into the discussion, Moore dropped a bombshell. After predicting that Trump would win, he predicted that he wouldn’t be in the White House by the time 2020 rolled around.

“This is why we’re not gonna have to suffer through four years of Donald J. Trump, because he has no ideology except the ideology of Donald J. Trump. And when you have a narcissist like that, who’s so narcissistic where it’s all about him, he will–maybe unintentionally–break laws. He will break laws because he’s only thinking about what’s best for him.”

Moore argued that the resistance to Trump is going to be so massive that when Trump makes a major blunder, not even Republican majorities in the House and Senate will be nearly enough to save his presidency. He thinks that at some point before the end of his term, he will either resign or be impeached.

Lest you think this sounds outlandish, you have to remember that Trump has no mandate. In all likelihood, Hillary will win the popular vote. Not only that, but the resistance to Trump actually started literally within hours of the networks declaring him president-elect. I checked my Facebook feed on Wednesday morning, and a number of pro-Hillary groups had already changed their names or their focuses to reflect that they were going into opposition mode. With this many people already watching Trump for the first major slip-up, it’s clear that he has no margin for error.

Moreover, it’s very likely that two of Trump’s most outrageous policy proposals–his ban on Muslim immigration and his vow to bring back waterboarding–are not just immoral, but illegal under both domestic law and international law. That’s two grounds for impeachment right out of the gate. And as more becomes known about his opaque financial ties, the chances are better than even that something will come up that will cause his support on Capitol Hill to dry up as fast as Nixon’s support dried up once the smoking gun tape was released.

We already knew that with the GOP having complete control of the government for only the second time since the Depression, it was inevitable that we would see a lot of fail and a lot of overreach before the 2018 midterms. If there’s anything to Moore’s prediction, we may not have to wait that long.
