Trump University Scam Victims Get $25 Million – Trump Settles Up (VIDEO)

Guess what? The unthinkable has happened. President-elect Donald Trump has essentially owned up to bilking hundreds of people through his Trump University real estate program.

He’s agreed to pay $25 million to settle three lawsuits filed against him, New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman announced Friday:

Donald Trump fought us every step of the way, filing baseless charges and fruitless appeals and refusing to settle for even modest amounts of compensation for the victims of his phony university.

Today, that all changes. Today’s $25 million settlement agreement is a stunning reversal by Donald Trump and a major victory for the over 6,000 victims of his fraudulent university.”

Stunning Reversal Indeed

Let’s not forget, this is the lawsuit where Trump accused the judge of being biased because of his Mexican heritage, although Judge Gonzalo Curiel was actually born in Indiana.

Trump was, and still is, adamant about building a wall on the southern border, and he wants Mexico to pay for it.

In fact, Judge Gonzalo Curiel had been urging both sides to reach a settlement before trial proceeding began because of the presidential election.

The judge reminded both sides that President-elect Trump could be forced to testify via video if the case went to trial.

Wouldn’t That Be Something?

The settlements occurs as one of the cases was set to begin on November 28 in San Diego.

This represents a complete reversal for Trump. He’s vowed in person and via tweets that he would fight the lawsuits to the bitter end.

In the New York complaint, AG Schneiderman described Trump University this way:

“…Nothing more than a classic bait and switch scheme where Donald Trump promised students real estate secrets, but gave them little more than a mountain of debt.”

Not only will every plaintiff receive restitution, Trump will also pay upwards of $1 million in penalties for violating New York state education laws.

It’s refreshing to hear the leathery tangerine has to pay some type of penance.
